How to Connect Claude to Your Salon Booking (Works on the Free Plan)

Here's the part most people don't expect: you don't need to pay for Claude to connect it to your business.

Claude's free plan allows one custom connector. Make it ProBeauty AI, and Claude can see your schedule, look up a client's history before they sit down, find openings across your team, and book, move or cancel appointments. Your client gets a text with the details, the same as if you'd done it yourself.

People who use Claude tend to use it for the longer conversations. Thinking through a decision, planning a week, getting a proper rundown instead of a one-line answer. That turns out to be a good fit for running a book of clients.

This guide covers the setup, three ways beauty pros actually use it, and what it can't do yet.

Using ChatGPT instead? Here's that guide: How to connect ChatGPT to your salon booking.

Which Claude plans work

Every one of them. As of September 2026:

  • Free: works, with a limit of one custom connector.
  • Pro and Max: works.
  • Team and Enterprise: works, but an owner of your Claude organization adds the connector first. Then you connect your own ProBeauty AI account.

On the ProBeauty AI side, anyone can connect and ask about their schedule, services and clients. Booking, rescheduling and cancelling need Essential or Pro, the same plans that include online booking.

Setting it up

The same steps, plus a button to copy the link, are in the ProBeauty AI app under ChatGPT & Claude.

1. Open Connectors. On claude.ai, open Customize, then Connectors.

2. Add it. Tap Add custom connector, name it ProBeauty AI, and paste this link:

https://app.probeauty.ai/api/mcp

3. Connect. Tap Connect. Claude sends you to ProBeauty AI. Sign in if you need to, then tap Connect Claude.

On that screen you should see Claude · Verified. If it says anything else, don't continue. It isn't us.

Now open any chat and ask about your day.

Three ways to actually use it

You can ask it anything about your calendar and clients. In practice, most people settle into a few habits.

1. Consultation prep

Before a client sits down, ask for a rundown.

You: I've got Sofia at 10. What did we do last time, and when was she last in?

Claude: Sofia was last in on September 12 for a full balayage with a gloss, 3 hours. Your notes from that visit say she wanted it a little warmer next time and mentioned a wedding in November. Before that she came in on July 20 for a cut and gloss. Today she's booked for a root touch-up and gloss.

That works because Claude can read the visit history and notes you keep in ProBeauty AI, formula notes included. It's the kind of thing you'd otherwise scroll through on your phone while the client is hanging up her coat.

(On a team, visit history is visible to owners, admins and members. Staff accounts don't see it, the same as in the app.)

2. Planning the week

Claude is good at looking at a lot of information and telling you what matters.

  • "What does next week look like? Where do I have room for a 3-hour color?"
  • "Which days am I busiest? Is there a day I could leave early?"
  • "What's still owed on this week's appointments?"
  • "Who on the team could take a 90-minute facial Saturday morning?"

It checks your real availability, including working hours, existing bookings, buffers and time off, so the openings it finds are ones you can actually book. It can look ahead up to two weeks at a time when finding openings, and a month at a time when reading your schedule.

3. Quick changes

When you know what you want, just say it.

  • "Book Maya for a gel fill Tuesday at 2 and send her the details."
  • "Move Jess's Thursday appointment to 4 pm and text her the new time."
  • "Cancel Ana's Friday appointment. She's sick."

Claude is set up to read the change back to you and check before it does anything, and to mention that your client is about to get a text. Say yes and it's done. The appointment shows up in your calendar, your client gets a confirmation, and the usual reminders are scheduled. If the client opted out of texts, they aren't messaged, and Claude tells you so you can reach them another way.

If you take card payments in ProBeauty AI, you can also ask it to send a payment request, for a deposit, a balance or a product: "Send Jess a $45 payment request for today's brow tint." On a team, that's for owners and managers.

What it won't do yet

  • Add new clients. It works with clients already in ProBeauty AI. Add them in the app, then ask Claude to book.
  • Change your services, prices or hours. Those stay in the app.
  • Take a deposit when it books. Booking and payment are separate. Ask for a payment request if you need one.

You're in control of what it can do

Once you connect, two switches appear under Claude in the app, both on to start:

  • Allow booking changes. Off means Claude can read but can't book, move or cancel.
  • Let it text your clients. Off means changes won't send texts.

You can disconnect from the same screen, and access stops right away.

If you work at a salon, Claude sees what your role lets you see in the app, and nothing more. Owners can see which apps their team has connected.

About your data

ProBeauty AI doesn't sell your data or use it to train AI models. Claude only reads what it needs to answer the question you asked. Ask about Sofia and it looks up Sofia. It doesn't take a copy of your client list.

Your conversations with Claude fall under Anthropic's terms, like anything else you type into Claude. If you'd rather your chats weren't used to improve Anthropic's models, check the privacy options in Claude's settings.

If something isn't working

You can't add a second connector. The free plan allows one custom connector. Remove the one you're not using, or upgrade Claude.

You're on Claude Team or Enterprise and can't add it. An owner of your Claude organization has to add it first.

Claude doesn't seem to use it. Make sure ProBeauty AI is switched on for that chat in Claude's tools menu, and try naming it: "Check my ProBeauty AI calendar for tomorrow."

It won't book. Either the "Allow booking changes" switch is off, or the ProBeauty AI account you connected doesn't have Essential or Pro.

It asks which workspace. That's normal if you have your own business and also work at a salon. Tell it which one.

Claude, ChatGPT or GIA?

They all do the same booking jobs with the same checks behind them, so pick the one you already have open.

GIA is built into ProBeauty AI and needs no setup. Claude and ChatGPT are for when that's where you already spend your day. We set out the bigger argument for connecting AI to your actual business in ChatGPT vs. ProBeauty AI, and the setup page compares both side by side.
