How to Connect ChatGPT to Your Salon Booking (Step by Step)
ChatGPT can now see your calendar, find openings, and book clients for you. Who it works for, the three-step setup, what to ask first, and what it won't do yet.

If you run a beauty business, there's a good chance ChatGPT is already open in a tab somewhere. You use it to write captions, reword an awkward text to a client, or figure out what to charge for a new service.
Until now it had one big blind spot. It couldn't see your business. It didn't know who was coming in tomorrow, which afternoons were open, or that Maya always books a gel fill every three weeks. You had to tell it everything, every time, and then go do the actual booking yourself somewhere else.
That's changed. You can now connect ProBeauty AI to ChatGPT, and ChatGPT can read your schedule, find real openings, look up clients, and book, move or cancel appointments for you. Your client gets a text with the details, the same as if you'd booked them yourself.
This guide covers who it works for, how to set it up in about two minutes, what to ask first, and what it can't do yet.
Using Claude instead? There's a separate guide: How to connect Claude to your salon booking.
Three things.
A ChatGPT plan that allows custom apps. That's ChatGPT Plus or Pro. If your ChatGPT account is through work on Business, Enterprise or Edu, it can work too, but your admin may need to allow custom apps first. It isn't available on ChatGPT Free or Go. (These were the rules when we checked in September 2026. OpenAI changes things often, so if a step below doesn't match what you see, the setup page has the latest.)
A ProBeauty AI account. Anyone can connect and ask about their schedule, services and clients. Booking, rescheduling and cancelling appointments need Essential or Pro, the same plans that include online booking.
A computer for the setup. The connection is created on chatgpt.com, which is much easier on a laptop than a phone. You only do this once.
You'll find these same steps, and a button to copy the link, in the ProBeauty AI app under ChatGPT & Claude.
1. Open ChatGPT's Plugins. On a computer, go to chatgpt.com and open Plugins.
2. Create the app. Click Add, then Create MCP App. Name it ProBeauty AI. Under Server URL, paste this link:
https://app.probeauty.ai/api/mcp
Leave Authentication set to OAuth.
3. Approve it. Tick "I understand and want to continue", then click Create. ChatGPT sends you to ProBeauty AI. Sign in if you need to, and tap Connect ChatGPT.
On that approval screen you should see ChatGPT · Verified. If you see anything else, stop. It isn't us.
That's it. Start a new chat and it's ready.
(If you're wondering what "MCP" means: it stands for Model Context Protocol, the open standard ChatGPT and Claude use to plug into other apps. You don't need to know anything about it beyond pasting the link.)
Talk to it the way you'd text a coworker who has your calendar open. A few to start with:
Your day
Finding a time
Your clients
Making changes
It works with your real calendar, so it accounts for your working hours, existing bookings, buffers and time off. It's set up to read the details back and check with you before it books, moves or cancels anything, and to tell you that your client is about to get a text. Say "yes" and it's done.
Here's a realistic exchange.
You type: "Can you fit Maya in for a gel fill Tuesday afternoon?"
ChatGPT checks your calendar and comes back with the open times. Say 1:00, 2:00 and 3:30.
You type: "2 works."
It confirms: gel fill, Tuesday at 2:00, with you, and Maya will get a text with the details. You say yes. The appointment lands in your ProBeauty AI calendar, Maya gets her confirmation text, and she gets the usual reminders before the visit.
If Maya has opted out of texts, she isn't messaged, and ChatGPT tells you so. You can let her know another way.
One thing worth knowing: booking through ChatGPT doesn't take a deposit. If the service normally needs one, it'll say so. If you take card payments in ProBeauty AI, you can ask it to send a payment request instead: "Send Maya a $20 deposit request for Tuesday." (On a team, that's for owners and managers.)
Better to know now than mid-conversation.
When you connect, two switches show up under ChatGPT in the app, and both start on:
You can disconnect any time from the same screen, and access stops right away.
If you work at a salon, ChatGPT sees what your role in the salon lets you see in the app, and nothing more. If you're a stylist, that usually means your own appointments. Owners can see which apps their team has connected.
ProBeauty AI doesn't sell your data and doesn't use it to train AI models. ChatGPT only sees what it looks up to answer your question, such as tomorrow's schedule when you ask about tomorrow. It doesn't copy your whole client list.
What you say in ChatGPT is handled under OpenAI's terms, the same as any other chat. If you'd rather OpenAI didn't use your conversations to improve its models, you can turn that off in ChatGPT under Settings → Data controls. Worth a look whether or not you connect ProBeauty AI.
You don't see Plugins or Create MCP App. It's almost always the plan. Check you're on Plus or Pro, or ask your workspace admin if you're on Business, Enterprise or Edu.
ChatGPT says it can't book. Either the "Allow booking changes" switch is off, or the account you connected doesn't have Essential or Pro.
It asks which workspace you mean. That happens if you have your own business and also work at a salon. Just tell it, for example "my own" or "the salon".
It connected the wrong account. Disconnect it in the app, sign in to the right ProBeauty AI account in your browser, and connect again.
Both. They do the same booking jobs with the same checks.
GIA lives inside ProBeauty AI, so it's there whenever you have the app open. The ChatGPT connection is for when ChatGPT is where you already spend your time, and you'd rather not switch apps to check one thing. If you're already in ChatGPT writing a caption and remember you need to move an appointment, you can just ask.
